Subhi Ahmad is Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Managing Partner. He has experience in a wide range of sectors, including banking and finance, general corporate and insurance. Subhi read law at the University of Baghdad and admitted to the Iraqi Bar in 1972. He has been practicing law in the UAE since 1980 and currently has rights of audience before the Dubai courts in the UAE; the Supreme Courts in the Sultanate of Oman; and all courts in Iraq.
Prior to establishing Baitulhikma Law Firm, Subhi was employed at the National Insurance Company of Baghdad for five years before moving to the Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company. From there, he moved to the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) in 1980, where he was primarily responsible for drafting a range of legal documents, including letters of credit, loan guarantees, loan agreements, syndicated loan agreements and bridge loan agreements.
He left NBAD in 1985 to establish his private practice, where he was quickly acknowledged as one of the leading attorneys in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
In addition to his experience managing his own practice, Subhi is a registered arbitrator at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Arbitration and Conciliation Centre, and at the International Chamber of Commerce’s International Court of Arbitration.
Subhi is fluent in English, Arabic and Turkish.
mohammed issa al suweidi
Mohammed Issa Al Suweidi is the Senior Partner at Baitulhikma Law Firm. He is a UAE-qualified attorney with more than 30 years’ worth of experience in the UAE and has rights of audience before all local and federal courts of the UAE.
Mohammed specializes in general corporate and commercial matters and holds a master’s degree in Commercial Law from Cardiff University. Prior to private practice, Mohammed served as the Labor and Social Affairs Undersecretary for the Federal government of the UAE for more than 15 years.
He is fluent in both English and Arabic.
Sali Jumah is a senior legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm. She specializes in corporate-commercial and banking and finance litigation.
Sali read law at the University of Regensburg, in Germany, and has practiced law in the UAE since 2009. She has since gained exposure to a wide range of litigation matters before the Courts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Prior to joining Baitulhikma Law Firm, Sali was employed at a leading German law firm based out of the UAE, where her focus was on a wide range of litigation matters. She joined Baitulhikma Law Firm in 2014, where she is primarily responsible for assisting the Managing Partner in litigation matters. Sali is the appointed Lawyer of Trust of the Swiss Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Sali has extensive experience in complex, high value local and international disputes resolution, including litigation, arbitration procedures at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and before the tribunal under the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority´s (ESCA) rules.
She is fluent in German, English, Arabic and has a working knowledge of French.
Hani Gawrieh is a senior legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Abu Dhabi office. He is primarily responsible for execution proceedings before the Abu Dhabi execution courts
Hani is a Syrian-qualified attorney, with over 20 years’ worth of experience in the UAE and Syria. In addition to this work at Baitulhikma, Hani is also a registered legal expert with the Abu Dhabi Courts of Execution.
Hani is fluent in Arabic and has a working knowledge of French.
Sabu Damodaran is a senior legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Abu Dhabi office.
He is an Indian-qualified attorney with more than 15 years’ worth of experience in corporate and commercial matters in both India and the UAE. He specializes in general corporate matters including company formation, minority shareholder protections and shareholders agreements.
He is fluent in Malayalam, Hindi and English.
tahir al tahir
Tahir Al Tahir is a senior legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Abu Dhabi office.
He is a Syrian and Egyptian qualified attorney with over 15 years’ worth of experience of general corporate matters. Tahir is the firm’s real estate specialist; with particular expertise in commercial and residential rent dispute matters in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Tahir is fluent in English and Arabic.
yousef al marzooqi
Yousef Al Marzooqi is a UAE qualified advocate at Baitulhikma Law Firm, with rights of audience before all UAE courts. He read law at UAE University in Al Ain.
Yousif is Baitulhikma Law Firm’s advocate in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with rights of audience before the Courts of First Instance and the Courts of Appeal in Abu Dhabi. Yousef has more than seven years’ worth of experience in a wide range of litigation matters.
Yousif is fluent in Arabic and has a working knowledge of English.
Hussein Ahmad is a legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s office in Abu Dhabi. He specializes in general corporate and commercial law; as well as real estate law, with an emphasis of facilities management.
Hussein is an English-educated legal advisor with more than five years’ worth of experience in the UAE. He was most recently seconded to one of the largest property and facilities management offices in Abu Dhabi. He is actively involved in pro-bono legal work; and routinely assists the DIFC Courts with the preparation of case briefs. He is currently waiting to be called to the New York State Bar.
Hussein is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Turkish.
Ismail is a senior legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Abu Dhabi office. He is a Jordanian-educated legal advisor with more than 15 years’ worth of experience in banking, insurance and general corporate matters in the UAE and acts as the firm’s representative in court-appointed experts’ meetings.
He is fluent in both English and Arabic.
ahmad subhi ahmad
Ahmad is a Managing Associate at Baitulhikma Law Firm. He specializes in venture capital, private equity, media law and corporate commercial law in the United Arab Emirates and its free zones, British Virgin Islands and England & Wales. Ahmad has over 10 years of legal experience. Prior to joining Baitulhikma, Ahmad held legal positions at twofour54 Abu Dhabi, Herbert Smith Freehills in Dubai and Clifford Chance in London. Ahmad read law at the University of Bristol and is an English-qualified solicitor. He is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Turkish and Arabic.
Clemens Daburon is Of Counsel at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s international advisory section. Dr. Daburon has more than 10 years’ experience in the MEA region, 8 years out of which are in Abu Dhabi.
He has a wealth of corporate finance expertise and a proven record advising key decision-makers on M&A transactions and major commercial contracts in multiple jurisdictions (UAE, Oman, Iraq, Egypt and Qatar) across a diverse range of industry sectors including construction, healthcare & defense. He also successfully represented clients in arbitration procedures before the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation Centre (ADCCAC), the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (ESCA).
Dr. Daburon is a frequent speaker on UAE and Iraqi law for the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the International Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Austrian Business Council and for trade delegations.
He graduated from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration with a degree in international commerce in 2001 and from Vienna University with a degree in law in 2002. He received a PhD in international law from Vienna University with distinction in 2006. Dr. Clemens Daburon passed the Austrian bar exam with distinction in July 2007. He is admitted in England & Wales (Solicitor).
Dr. Daburon is lawyer of trust (Vertrauensanwalt) of the Austrian Embassy, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Daburon is fluent in English, German, French and Russian and has basic knowledge of Arabic and Spanish.
Mohammed Ayyad is primarily responsible for drafting the pleadings before the Abu Dhabi Courts.
Mohammed read law at Ain Tanta University, Egypt and obtained a bachelor’s degree in law in 2006. Prior to joining Baitulhikma Law Firm, he was self-employed as a lawyer and legal advisor in Egypt.
mr. abdullah yousef al najaar
Abdulla Yousef Al Najjar is a UAE qualified advocate at Baitulhikma Law Firm, with rights of audience before all UAE courts. He read law at Sharjah University.
Prior to joining Baitulhikma Law Firm, Abdullah was employed as a legal advisor for three years at one of the UAE‘s leading banks where gained
wide experience in the practical aspects of the law.
Adbullah is Baitulhikma’s advoate in the Emirate of Dubai and has has extensive knowledge in all areas of law and court procedure. He is a member of the Emirates Bar Association.
Abdullah is fluent in both English and Arabic.
Mohammed Ahmad is the General Manager for Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Dubai office. He specializes in general corporate and commercial law, with a focus on employment and intellectual property law.
Mohammed read law at the University of Manchester and completed his legal practice course at Manchester Metropolitan University. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in March 2012 and has rights of audience before all of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts. Mohammed is additionally a licensed wills draftsman for the DIFC Wills and Probate Registry.
Prior to joining Baitulhikma, Mohammed was employed as legal counsel at a large Abu Dhabi government-backed diversified media company, where his primary focus was digital media. Prior to that, he was employed at a large international law firm based in the DIFC for three years.
Mohammed is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French and Turkish.
Summar Altaee is a senior legal advisor at Baitulhikma Law Firm.
Summar was admitted as an Australian Legal Practitioner at the Supreme Court of Victoria in December 2011. Summar is also accredited as an Arabic – English translator by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters of Australia. She read law at Victoria University, and has obtained a Masters in Interpreting and Translation and Master of Laws in corporate finance and securities from Monash University, in Australia.
Prior to joining Baitulhikma Law Firm, Summar was employed at a leading Melbourne law firm for over four years, where she specialised in securities and real property law. She also interned at the Chambers of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in the Netherlands, where she undertook a variety of tasks assigned by the Judges and Legal Officers of the Tribunal.
She is fluent in English and Arabic
Wael Gaber is the head of the civil litigation division at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Dubai office. He is an Egyptian qualified attorney that has more than 18 years’ worth of experience covering most areas of law, where his focus is on banking and corporate-commercial litigation.
Wael read law at Mansoura University in Egypt, where he was given a bachelor degree in law in 1996. Subsequent to that, Wael was admitted to the Egyptian Bar, with the right of audience before all courts of law in Egypt. Prior to joining Baitulhikma Law Firm, Wael managed his own practice, advising on a wide variety of corporate matters, while concurrently being employed as an arbitration counsel at the Egyptian Association for International Arbitration.
Wael is fluent in Arabic and has a working knowledge of English.
Ahmed Hassanin is the head of the execution division at Baitulhikma Law Firm’s Dubai Office. He is primarily responsible for the handling of all execution matters before the Dubai Execution Courts – an area of particular expertise for the firm. In addition to this, he is responsible for overseeing the sale of mortgaged properties through the specialised mortgage procedures in the Emirates of Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.
Ahmed read law at Ain Shams University in Egypt and obtained a bachelor’s degree in law in 1998. Prior to joining Baitulhikma Law Firm, he was employed as an advocate and legal advisor at some of the most reputable law firms and corporates in Egypt and the UAE.
Ahmed is fluent in Arabic and has a working knowledge of English.
Mohammed Shaban is an Egyptian-qualified lawyer, and has been the head of the criminal cases division at Baitulhikma Law Firm for more than ten years. He has personally overseen over 60,000 police complaint matters in his time at Baitulhikma Law Firm.
Mohamed read law at Tanta University in Egypt and was awarded a bachelor degree in law in 2003. Prior to joining Baitulhikma, Mohamed practiced as an attorney in Egypt.
Mohamed is fluent in Arabic and has a working knowledge of English.
mohammed talal abu khaled
Mohammed Abu Khaled is the head of the rental dispute department and has been with Baitulhikma Law Firm for more than four years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B) from Alipo University in Syria.
Mohammed and his team are responsible for ensuring that landlord and tenant disputes are handled swiftly.
He is fluent in Arabic and has a working knowledge of English.
Mohammed Fathi is the head of the mortgage sales & precautionary attachment department at Baitulhikma law Firm’s Dubai office. He has more than seven years of experience in the UAE and extensive knowledge in the precautionary attachment and the sales of mortgaged cars and is widely recognized as the leader of his field.
Prior to joining Baitulhikma, Mohammed was employed for two years with a leading real estate company in the UAE.
He is fluent in Arabic.
Marco read law at the Catholic University of Milan, where he graduated in international trade law. After having taken classes at Boston University in Legal Writing, Contract Law e International Business Transactions, he joined an international law firm as an associate with Padua office.
In 2007 he was seconded to the firm’s law office in the UAE,. Since 2008 he has held the position of head of the firm’s Italian Desk, a team of 3 lawyers advising Italian and European clientele on the laws of the UAE and of other countries of the Gulf. Marco joined Baitulhikma as in 2016.
Frequent lecturer at seminars and conferences, he is author of articles on the UAE legal system published in economic and financial Italian newspapers. Marco has been a member of the Board of the Italian Business Group in Abu Dhabi and served as a member to the Board of the Italian Industry and Commerce Office in the UAE.
